Welcome to UV Resources!
UV Resources continues to accelerate the demand for UV product through market leadership that's aimed solely
at the customer. In part, its mission is to dominate new product development of very affordable, high quality
UVC products for HVACR air and water applications world-wide. Users are assured these products have been
properly configured to protect people, goods and equipment from harmful microorganisms, and other organic
matter in air, liquids and on surfaces. Our goal is to make them easily available to anyone anywhere.
UV & Indoor Air/Environmental Quality
For decades now UV-C has been used in HVACR equipment to improve indoor air, and environmental
quality (IAQ/IEQ). The wavelength of UV-C photo-disassociates molecular bonds of most all organic
substances such that it inactivates, kills and/or destroys mold, bacteria and their products and
contaminants found in most any HVACR system serving commercial, industrial and institutional buildings
everywhere. This includes homes, healthcare facilities, schools as well as many critical and high
security areas.
UV Resources Products - Market Specifications
UV Resources products meet all market specifications from high output fixtures (DEF HO Series)
to standard output fixtures (DEF SO Series); and for built-up systems, to a NEMA 4X (SEF-N Series)
product designed specifically for rooftop/outdoor applications of most any type. The Remote Lamp Mount,
(RLM Series) fixtureless system is available in two distinct types. One is designed for fan coil,
heat pump and PTAC units and the other (RLM Xtreme) delivers flexibility, high output and unequaled
safety for built-up systems at the lowest price of any product available. All of these UVC products
can be installed in new equipment or existing HVACR systems to kill surface and airborne pathogens
reducing the spread of infectious agents (viruses, bacteria and mold) as well as the growth of mold
on coils and in drain pans.
UV & HVAC Efficiency
Cooling coils are in dark, mostly moist environments that are loaded with organic nutrients of all kinds.
They are perfect for the support of mold and some bacteria growth.
Even a monolayer of this bio-film can cause airflow and heat exchanger inefficiencies sufficient enough
to render a system inadequate for its intended use (common problem).
The 253.7 nanometer (link to glossary term) UV-C wavelength goes to work breaking down and vaporizing
these organic structures to clean a coil sufficiently to return its performance characteristics.
This form of system restoration also reduces the need for costly system (coil) maintenance programs.
UV Resources MicroWatt Second®
MicroWatt Second® by UV Resources is a fact based insight to UV-C energy and all of its real world HVACR and related applications - everywhere! MicroWatt Second (life's highly sought after intellectual tool) is sent via e-mail every Monday morning!
What's MicroWatt Second? It's a brief summary of HVACR related, plus other interesting morsels about UV, its applications and the many places it can be found all over the world.
The basic idea of MicroWatt Second is to give the UVR audience, actuality centered information from which one can increase his or her knowledge, in of course, seconds of reading time.
Our goal is to provide interesting, helpful and therefore useable information, while not bogging you down with something you don't have time to read.
With certain subject matter, you'll also have the option to read the summary's background via a link; either to its specific reference or other information elsewhere.
Who's it for? MicroWatt Second is for everyone! We think everyone needs to know more about one of natures more valuable tools, to increase its use.
What's up with the name? In the United States, we measure UV-C intensity in Micro-Watts that strike "one square centimeter" of surface area.
To quantify it then we state "that" amount in seconds, hence microwatt seconds. It gets expressed in writing as μW/cm2.
Note the dot stands for "times" so its microwatts X the number of seconds. Now you can see that it's the logical choice, while also being our first summary!
