UV-C Fixtures are very high UV-C output types of HVACR grade. Lamp output is optimized for both heating and cooling temperatures of 55135°F as measured in a moving air stream of 500 fpm.
LAMPS are to be very high output, T5 diameter rapid-start, medium bi-pin types that produce broadband UV of 253.7 nm. Each lamp must produce the specified output at any airflow velocity and at both heating and cooling temperatures of 170°C. Useful lamp life shall be 9000 hours with no more than a 20% output loss at the end of one year of continuous use. They shall be constructed UV-C style ceramic bases and shall not produce measurable ozone.
FIXTURES are constructed of 304 stainless steel and mounted in rows constructed to provide proper UV-C distribution, fixture support, and safety. Fixtures are capable of being mounted anywhere in the system and/or as shown on the plans. When used for air stream disinfection, the fixture assembly is designed to be installed such that the sum of the fixture lengths and rows meet a specified kill ratio, or inactivation.
INSTALLATION Fixture row(s) is electrically terminated to a commercially available and Listed junction box(es) to meet UL, CUL, NEC and/or local codes. Fixtures are positioned to irradiate the intended surface(s) and/or the entire available line-of-sight air stream through proper modeled placement and intended reflection.
SAFETY To protect eyes and skin, all access panels and doors to the UV-C fixture installation and/or those within view must include mechanical interlock switches to insure that the UV-C fixtures are de-energized when accesses are opened or fixtures viewed without proper gear.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY Ballasting shall be through high efficiency, electronic type power supplies matched to the lamp and designed to maximize UV-C output and reliability at heating and cooling temperatures of 170°C. They shall be UL Listed and labeled and capable of producing the output specified under Irradiation and Intensity using no more than 15 Watts of input power per square foot of treated, cross-sectional plane.
